About Dr. Yele Aluko

Dr. Yele Aluko is a proven MD/MBA physician executive and corporate leader with extensive clinical and business healthcare industry expertise. Currently serving as the EY Americas Chief Medical Officer in the Business Consulting Health sector, Dr. Aluko brings 25 years of clinical and administrative health system experience.

Previously, Dr. Aluko held positions as a structural heart cardiologist and senior vice president of heart and vascular services at a 15-hospital integrated regional health care system in the southeast USA. In these roles, he oversaw cardiovascular service line vision, growth, clinical integration, physician alignment, and standardization of clinical, operational, and business processes.

Beyond his corporate leadership, Dr. Aluko is committed to advancing health equity in the United States. As a career-long health equity practitioner, he advocates purposefully within and outside the health industry to drive change. He helps business leaders, health executives, and other relevant stakeholders gain deeper insights into the business case supporting health equity, ultimately helping CEOs and C-suite leaders rethink long-term value through the lens of health equity.

Dr. Aluko is also the founder and leader of the EY Center for Health Equity, where he focuses on designing downstream and collaborative health equity strategies for employers, governments, payers, providers, life sciences, community-based organizations, and others. His work centers around addressing health's political and social determinants to create a more equitable healthcare system.

In addition to his role at EY, Dr. Aluko is a cardiologist in Charlotte, North Carolina, with over 20 years of experience. He received his medical degree from the University of Ibadan and holds certifications from the American and Canadian Boards of Internal Medicine and the American Boards of Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology.

Dr. Aluko is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI). He obtained his MBA from Wake Forest University School of Business. Yele completed fellowships in Interventional Cardiology from the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and Invasive Cardiology from Cornell University Medical Center. He also completed a General Cardiology Fellowship and an Internal Medicine Residency from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University.

In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Aluko serves on the advisory boards of Harvard Business Review, Honeywell Healthcare Solutions, and Children's National Hospital. He is also the co-chair of the Investing for Health (IfH) Advisory Board at the International Well Building Institute, further demonstrating his commitment to shaping the future of healthcare.
